While my output of articles has slowed considerably, my writing efforts have not; I have been deep in the morass of my mind toiling over a book! The initial draft and almost one entire pass of revision and editing are now complete. But instead of releasing it without any context, I wanted to give those of you who have engaged or follow my writing to any extent a glimpse of what I have been working on.
The working title is Chewing the Cud: A Devotional Rumination on God, Man, and World, comprising a series of interconnected meditations on man’s role as the mediator between God and the rest of creation. Integrating biblical, theological, and philosophical perspectives, this work aims to assist readers in reflecting more deeply on their own purpose in the transformation of God’s world, in locate themselves within the symbolic and sacramental unfoldment of the mystery of Christ—hidden in God from the beginning and being revealed in its infinite depth unto ages of ages.
Though its chapters are based on ideas and themes from my previous work, the book’s content is heavily revised and enhanced by further reflection on my part—forged in the digestive system of one who religiously chews the cud.
Once it is finished, I will let you know how to obtain a hard copy. If anyone would prefer an electronic format, let me know. Kindle is an obvious option, but if anyone knows a better method of publishing an ebook, I’d greatly appreciate your ideas.
